The mission of Roots and Routes is to support the integration of immigrant communities in Europe by creating a platform that shares stories, offers practical tools, and builds understanding between cultures.
Many immigrant families face challenges when arriving in a new country — language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and a feeling of being “in between.” Children of immigrants often carry both the weight of the past and the pressure of the future. This project aims to help with that reality.
Through this platform, we want to do three main things:
1. Share Stories: Immigrant experiences are complex and unique. We believe storytelling is powerful. By sharing real stories from people in different communities, we can create empathy and make others feel less alone.
2. Provide Resources: We are collecting tools, programs, and links that can help immigrants, students, and teachers. From language programs to education tips and cultural guides, this section will grow over time.
3. Create Connection: Workshops and interviews will bring people together — both online and in person. We want to connect youth, community leaders, educators, and families in a respectful, open way.
We also believe that Europe can learn from other models — including American ideas around integration and multiculturalism — while still creating its own way forward.
Roots and Routes is about dignity, access, and voice. We are not trying to “solve” everything, but we want to make integration feel more human. We believe small, honest efforts can lead to bigger change.
